Thoughts for 2018

Please visit our link on the left: “Thoughts for 2018”.  Each week we will be adding the new “Thought or Two” from Pastor Leon Langille.  These entries provide us with some food for thought as we venture into the work week ahead. The most recent entry is also posted here:

A Thought or Two: March 18 to 24
Back in the mid- nineteenth century, a Texas rancher refused to brand his cattle. When his neighbours came across one of his calves, they called it a “maverick.” The word came to mean, “one who refuses to conform.”
Other names have come to describe the person’s character and behaviour. Judas, and Benedict Arnold, both mean “traitor.” An Einstein is a genius. Solomon is a wise man. Our names will not become part of a language, but they indicate who we are and how we have lived while we are here. “The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot. . .. . .He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known”(Proverbs 10:7.9).
When we think of people we know and love, they usually have the character traits we admire, and would like to have as well. Honesty, generosity and love, usually top the list. We see these in the life of our blessed Lord. As we allow Him, our Lord wants to work in us to make our name one that points to Him day by day. As we labour in His vineyard, may people say of us, as they said of the early Christian: “They are Christ Ones.”
Blessings to you and yours this week
Pastor Leon
